European Cycle Logistics Federation Conference April 2014
The second, free to attend, European Cycle Logistics Federation Conference is being held in the Spring and forms part of the International Cargo Bike Festival (Bakfiets Treffen) which runs over the weekend of 12 & 13 April 2014 in Nijmegen, Netherlands. The conference includes the official launch of the European Cycle Logistics Federation as a legal entity.
The Federation conference on Saturday 12 April 2014 will be held at the Cultuurspinnerij de Vasim, Winselingseweg 41, Nijmegen. The agenda and sessions for the meeting is almost finalised and we are delighted to welcome Mikael Colville-Andersen from Copenhagenize as our key note speaker.
Gary Armstrong, organiser of the Federation conference said "this will be our second conference building on the success of the first event held in Cambridge, UK in 2012 and we are organising a comprehensive agenda of industry experts along with opportunities for participants to hear and learn from established cycle logistics operators."
The Federation, a membership organisation aims to represent and support the needs of cycle logistics operators by highlighting best practice, sharing knowledge and experience, lobbying stakeholders and identifying opportunities for shared promotions, marketing and costs. Although in its infancy the Federation aims to develop a range of membership services and resources for its membership as well as providing a strong unified voice when setting standards for future urban logistics.
The Federation is an initiative which has come out of the EU-funded CycleLogistics project which promotes the use of cycles for the transportation of goods and services.
